Joseph Sapienza | Founder & Director
Joseph Sapienza founded Bread of Compassion in 2005 to mobilize people to help those who needed it most. Through Bread of Compassion he has provided the opportunity for over 1500 people to travel on humanitarian missions to make life-changing differences in the lives of those living in extreme poverty. Joseph is a graduate of Northpoint Bible College and Northwest College and earned his Master of Urban Ministry degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. He has served on various non-profit boards and served as lead pastor of Celebration International Church from 1991 to 2019. Today, Joseph continues to lead Bread of Compassion providing leadership training and faith centered education to people in Haiti and Italy.

Dr. John Sapienza
Dr. John Sapienza is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists since 1993, and he is the consultant veterinary ophthalmologist at the Bronx Zoo and N.Y. Aquarium. Dr. Sapienza is the head and department chairman of the ophthalmology department at Long Island Veterinary Specialists (LIVS) in Plainview, NY. Dr. Sapienza’s special interests are cataract surgery with phacoemulsification, intraocular lens implantation, laser glaucoma therapy, glaucoma implants, and reconstructive eyelid procedures. He was the first veterinary ophthalmologist to perform phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation in animals on Long Island, NY.

Steve Miller
Steve Miller is the Lead Pastor of New Hope Assembly of God serving this congregation since 1993. He graduated from Southeastern University and holds a Master’s Degree in Church Leadership. He believes very strongly in missions, both foreign and home and has an extensive background in organizing and sending mission teams into developing countries. Steve has conducted humanitarian missions throughout eastern Europe, Central and South America and Alaska. He is an professor at Northpoint Bible College, MI.

Charles Cabral
Charles Cabral has over 30 years of ministry experience. He has traveled to Haiti with Bread of Compassion and has a passion to help and restore hurting people. He operates a food pantry that serves families in need in the greater Pawtucket region of Rhode Island.

Samuel Rodriguez
Samuel Rodriguez graduated from Cornell University and SUNY Buffalo School of Law. Sam practiced law in Massachusetts before relocating to Florida where her currently serves as the pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Myers. Sam has traveled internationally with Bread of Compassion and has served on the board of Agape International in Hyderabad, India. In addition to serving on the board of directors of Bread of Compassion, he serves on the boards of New Operation Cooper St. in Puta Gorda and the Dr. Piper Center for Elder Care.

Michelle LaRowe Conover
Michelle LaRowe Conover is a published author and nanny care specialist. A graduate of Bridgewater State University, she educates nannies in over 30 countries and has developed the first NCFE/CACHE accredited nanny training in the United States. Michelle has served as executive director of the International Nanny Association and has served as an elected official on her local school board. Along with her husband Jeff, she adopted three children through foster care and serves on the Massachusetts Alliance for Foster Families and as a DCF Volunteer Case Reviewer. With a heart for helping people, Michelle has traveled internationally with Bread of Compassion, including to Kenya, Italy, and Peru.
